Podcasts

I have yet to tap in to the world of podcasts. I know I've never created one but I have listened to a few. Just listening doesn't seem to count though. I know that podcasts are valuable tools for learning but my values were for entertainment purposes only. Although I do think I've listened to a podcast that explained the benefits of meditation. I couldn't even begin spelling the guys name but it was helpful. I have also wanted to check out a series of podcasts available for cyclists that are forced to train indoors. Since I live in the freaking Rocky Mountains I think those podcasts could be extremely helpful in an otherwise horribly boring pursuit. I do think Fort Lewis could use podcasts for the benefits of its students. The article states, "Some podcasts such as language lessons and 'how to' projects are specifically designed for instruction. These programs often provide support materials in addition to the audio programs." This could very obviously help out someone in the scholarly pursuit. The difference and I guess advantage of podcasts over radio shows is that they are accessible in more ways than one. Maybe thats not quite clear. I mean that podcasts can be downloaded, purchased, and owned. That is they can be rewound, replayed, and reorganized to better suit the listener. Like I said before though, I'm not really sure if thats true because I don't use them. Yet...
